We focus only on making banjos in our factory so that all of our staff’s 271 years of combined banjo building expertise is directed toward making the highest quality banjos in all price ranges and providing the best banjos in the world.

We would love to have you come visit us and take a factory tour.  It is a great honor for us to share the joy we and our staff have in making banjos.  Over the past 41 years we have made more than 100,000 banjos and every one of them has been crafted with special attention.

We are a family run business, and we regard our craftsmen, suppliers, dealers, and especially our customers as part of the Deering family. Our focus and passion is to create great banjos that enable you as an artist to enjoy expressing yourself and your music.

We look forward to building your special banjo.

About Wernick Method Jam Camps

Closet pickers, this is for you!

Bluegrass Jam Camp
taught by Larry Kernagis using the Wernick Method.

Pete (“Dr. Banjo”) Wernick offers jam camps nationwide. Most events are in conjunction with bluegrass festivals!

Pete’s inventive teaching method focuses on the student’s desire to play music in a social setting. Pete’s emphasis is to address the general lack of this type of learning situation, and these camps have been launching beginning jammers everywhere!

Larry will show you how to be in a bluegrass jam session, fitting in at your own ability level. You will be jamming the first morning!
